Question 1

What does Catawisp help me keep track of?

Accepted Answer

Catawisp gives an independent online shop owner a private workspace for a shop and its saved products. For each product, you can keep its unit cost, selling price, the minimum gross-margin threshold you choose, and an optional supplier product-page URL together.

Question 2

Can I create a private shop and manage its products?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create a shop workspace while signed in, then add, edit, or delete saved products. The workspace and product records are scoped to your account; another account cannot read or change your products.

Question 3

Which prices and margin threshold can I save?

Accepted Answer

Save a product name, its unit cost in USD, its selling price in USD, and your chosen minimum gross-margin threshold as a percentage. Catawisp calculates gross margin from those saved prices as (selling price minus unit cost) divided by selling price, then shows whether that result is below your chosen threshold.

Question 4

Does Catawisp update my saved unit cost when a supplier price changes?

Accepted Answer

No. You update the saved unit cost yourself by editing the product. Catawisp recalculates its baseline gross margin from the cost and selling price you save; a supplier scan does not overwrite either saved price.

Question 5

How do I map a supplier product page?

Accepted Answer

Add the supplier product-page URL when creating a product, or edit a saved product and enter its full HTTP or HTTPS supplier page URL. Save the product to keep the mapping with it. An unmapped product cannot be scanned; add its supplier URL first.

Question 6

What happens when I manually scan a mapped supplier page?

Accepted Answer

You start each scan from the saved product in your workspace, and you can start another scan later. Catawisp reads the mapped supplier page and attempts to identify its current price, currency, and stock status. A scan checks supplier-page information; it does not update your saved unit cost.

Question 7

What do the supplier scan results mean?

Accepted Answer

A verified result means a price, currency, and stock status were all identified. A partially verified result means the page was read but at least one of those details could not be confirmed. The workspace shows the successful page-read date and source page; a failed attempt shows its attempt date when available. A failed scan saves no new price or stock result. If a prior result exists, it remains stored.

Question 8

When does a supplier scan show margin risk?

Accepted Answer

Catawisp compares a detected supplier price with your selling price and chosen margin threshold only when that detected price is in USD. A non-USD or unconfirmed price is not compared. This scan result stays separate from the baseline gross margin calculated from your saved unit cost.

Question 9

Are supplier scans or daily email reports automatic?

Accepted Answer

No. Supplier scans are manual only: you start one for a saved product with a mapped supplier page. Scheduled scans and daily email reports are not currently available.
