Shopify shop owners
If you sell through a store and a marketplace, reconcile the counts you maintain and note which supplier page you checked before changing a product cost.
CATAWISP / SHOP OWNER GUIDE
Keep supplier details easier to check, make room for a quick stock reconciliation, and review slow movers with your own sales history in hand.
WHAT SHOP OWNERS MAY RUN INTO
A supplied Catawisp shortlist reports that shop platforms, warehouses, supplier feeds, and marketplace listings may keep disconnected stock counts. It also describes overselling, stock outages, stale supplier price and stock details across multiple suppliers, and products that slow down or stop selling. These are themes reported by that shortlist, not measures of how common they are or guaranteed outcomes for every shop.
The shortlist uses no movement in 90 days as an example review point. Treat it as a prompt to check your own sales velocity, seasonality, costs, and margin—not as a universal rule or an automatic alert.
FIVE CANDIDATE SHOP PROFILES
These are advisory examples from the supplied shortlist, not a ranking of segments or proof of comparative demand.
If you sell through a store and a marketplace, reconcile the counts you maintain and note which supplier page you checked before changing a product cost.
When a product depends on a supplier listing, keep its price, currency, availability note, source, and check date together so a stale listing is easier to spot.
When comparing suppliers for a product, record each quoted price and currency with its source and date; compare only suppliers that currently show stock.
For a one-off item or listing, keep the source and availability note tied to that specific product so an old supplier detail is not mistaken for a live offer.
Before planning a recurring or curated box, review the latest supplier availability notes for the items you expect to include.
The shortlist describes sustainable goods as a high-growth category with emerging opportunities in 2025–2026. That is the report’s characterization, not a trend independently confirmed here.
GENERAL PRACTICE
These are practical suggestions for your own records and decisions.
Compare the stock figures in your shop, warehouse, supplier feed, and marketplace wherever you use them. Note the date and investigate differences before relying on a count.
For each product and supplier, record the quoted price, currency, stock note, source page or contact, and the date you checked it.
Check that you are comparing the same item and unit, and make sure the availability information is recent enough for the decision you are making.
Look at what is selling, slowing, or not moving alongside your own costs and margin. Use the shortlist’s 90-day no-movement example as a possible review prompt, not a fixed threshold.
CURRENT CATAWISP FEATURES
Catawisp provides a signed-in shop workspace. For each saved product, you can keep a unit cost in USD, a selling price in USD, and the minimum gross-margin threshold you choose. You can also add an optional supplier product-page URL.
From a saved product with a mapped supplier page, manually start a scan. It attempts to identify the page’s price, currency, and stock status.
Verified means price, currency, and stock were identified. Partially verified means the page was read but one or more details could not be confirmed. Failed means the scan could not complete. Successful reads show their source page and date; scan history keeps prior outcomes and attempt dates.
A scan never overwrites saved prices. Baseline gross margin uses the saved unit cost and selling price. A separate scan margin comparison is made only when the detected supplier price is in USD, against the selling price and your chosen threshold.
Catawisp does not synchronize shop, warehouse, or supplier stock; track on-hand counts; automatically update supplier prices; run scheduled scans or daily reports; or provide reorder automation, demand forecasts, or dead-stock alerts. The 90-day example above is general advice, not a Catawisp alert or configured threshold.
Market context on this page comes from the visible findings in a supplied Catawisp shortlist snapshot, which is truncated during its sustainable-goods section. The snapshot does not establish segment rankings, comparative engagement or membership metrics, or geographic distribution; this guide makes no such claims.
